Twelve short films made by graduating students, all shot on mobile phones, played to a full house at the film school's graduation screening.
The films range from a comedy about a wedding planner to a documentary about fishermen on the lagoon.
The school says phones let students practise storytelling without expensive cameras. "The story matters more than the gear," one lecturer said.
Two of the films have been picked for a regional festival next year.
All twelve will be shown free at the city library on the last Saturday of the month.
