A free app helps mothers track vaccinations

A free app built by a team of nurses and developers is helping mothers keep track of their children's vaccinations.

Parents enter their child's date of birth, and the app sends a reminder a few days before each vaccination is due.

Reminders also come by text message, so the app works on phones without internet.

Nurses at two clinics say more children now come in on time. "Mothers show us the reminder at the door," one said.

The team is working on versions in three local languages.
