City council approves new night bus routes after record ridership
Four new routes will run until midnight from Monday, with fares unchanged.
The city council has approved four new night bus routes after ridership on the existing night service doubled in a year.
The new routes will run every 20 minutes until midnight, linking the main markets, two hospitals and the university.
Fares will stay the same as daytime fares, and passengers can pay by card or phone.
Night workers welcomed the plan. "I used to walk the last part of my journey in the dark," said one nurse.
The routes start on Monday. Timetables are posted at every stop and on the council's website.
